Hello everyone,

I've been asking myself a question for a long time now, and while browsing through a bunch of scores, I'm no further ahead.

I am having fun making a lot of notes by copying old scores and making medleys.

My question: for the TANGOS, writing in 2/4 or C which is certainly easier because less single or double triplets.

Your opinion would interest me and thank you for your answers.

Hello,
The 2/4 measure contains 1 upbeat and 1 downbeat, while the 4/4 measure contains 1 upbeat and 3 downbeats. It is no longer a question of ease of reading or writing, but a question of interpretation.

Sincerely

Hello levinceret,

Thank you for your answer; I also had other information, identical or similar; and I consulted a lot of information on Internet... and there...
in short, 2/4, 4/4, 4/8 ... it's always a tango, with maybe a difference between simple tango, hananera, milonga ...

The right hand makes the difference but the left hand always plays the same. And to dance it too, except the Argentine tangos.

Finally, there is the problem of the ease of writing and especially of readability; 4/4 remains more "airy" in reading.

Well, the debate is closed.

And the same problem for the pasos-dobles, in 2/4 and 4/4; better El Relicario and Sombreros and Mantilles are in 3/4!

Hello musicians,

Well, for a first time, it's not so good; I realized that there were some mistakes in the 2 medleys that I uploaded and I ask you not to hold it against me; I'm starting to discover my software and it's not easy.
Moreover, I admit that I always do it too fast and I didn't take the time to play it on the accordion before submitting the score.

So I just redid the Medley of marches, more complete and better arranged.
I will do the same with the waltz medley and if all goes well, there might be some n° 2.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello La cumparsita

Already this name sings the music so what more can you ask for.... It's already very good to start making medleys, so if there are one or two little mistakes, it's up to us to correct them

Thank you for all these efforts, I make mistakes just by posting scores so...

Good continuation and good music

I have a problem .... my partition is in Word and I can't upload it to the site that doesn't take Word.

I'll have to convert it; besides, I have Windows 8 since recently, and I don't remember the little programs I had on the old ....

Patience and thanks for your encouragement.

Hello,
As far as Word is concerned, if you have a recent version, you can directly "Save as" and choose PDF.
On the other hand, I find it surprising that you have a score written with this software.
If you don't know it (or if you lost it on your new machine), I use Musescore which is free and which I find very powerful (and which, in addition, saves in PDF).

Hello to all,

This is done. The problem is that in order to transfer my score from the music software I wrote it with, I searched and transformed it into a Word file.
And I didn't think that the easiest thing to do afterwards was to scan it so that it would be in PDF!
It's by doing that you get better.
Thanks Cavag for your advice.

I will now redo my waltz medley better.
And when I will make others, I will play it several times to see if it is good.

Good day to all

Good evening Cumparsita !
first of all thank you for your medleys ... I didn't play them either ...But if you want to replace them, ask Cindou11 and she will do it for you ...
Good musicjmimi
Hello to all,

I've uploaded 2 medleys that I've had fun "making"; these are my first readings, so I ask you to be indulgent if it's not perfect, I've made it as simple as possible; in the meantime, it's up to you to make the right hand variations to embellish the scores.
I would also be grateful for your advice and remarks.
Good music.
