When I was a kid, we used to play for funerals, our teacher asked the parish priest what was correct to play, unfortunately, it's been more than 55 years and I don't remember the titles (especially since they were mostly in Latin).Times have changed since then, go see a priest, he won't necessarily advise you to play church pieces (if that's the case, you'll go see a younger one).Good research.SincerelyDaniel

Good evening Nini. It is true that the Ave Maria, is played in particular. But you also have the Agnus Dei; or the Adagio in G Minor (Albinoni); or Memory, they are there; pieces which lend themselves to the circumstances. I also advise you to prepare yourself for these, because the resonance in a church is important (I don't think that the priest or the deacon) doesn't see any inconvenience to what you repeat in his place. I wish you courage, because I played the Ave Maria myself for a friend; it is very demanding .........

Hello,
You are absolutely right, Cindou.
I have a friend who specializes in performing pieces, both sung and instrumental (piano), at funerals.
His repertoire is published here:

I played "Mon amant de Saint Jean" at my godfather's funeral, and I had a great success.

Good evening, I have just set up a musette band since January, we have already realized several dates, but I wish to make publicity to make known my band. I have plenty of addresses to which to propose my services but the problem is that I do not know what to write to accompany my card of the band. If you have any advice or even models to help me I thank you in advance. Thank you very much!

Good evening,

Would you like just a list of titles/suggestions, or would you like to get the quoted scores as well? In which case can you specify the degree of difficulty?

- Baila Cha cha (Jérôme Richard & Frédéric Langlais)
La Rivale (waltz by Joss Baselli)
El Mato (paso by Menweg)
- Olé Miranda (Paso by Michèle Boudet and Christian Peschel)
- La rumba des coeurs (Cédric and Cyril Blanchard)

The music of Yann Tiersen is also very appreciated...

I hope I gave you some ideas.

Have a nice evening,

Hello,

Yes, it all depends on your level and also on the audience. I'll explain: if they are not connoisseurs, you can play pieces that have been heard and reheard.
Otherwise, for real accordion lovers, you can play great pieces that are not very well known and on P.A. there is a real choice-I will quote "san fermin" a jota waltz that is great for the atmosphere, also "une parisienne à Séville", "very musette", "la douloureuse".... and so on, but respecting as cindou11 says the progression of the atmosphere.
Here is my humble opinion.

As far as the level is concerned, it's rather high, and I'm looking for titles and proposals as well as scores that go with them. Thanks in advance for the advice.
