I'm like you, I don't want to go through Paypal even without opening a Paypal account, following painful feedback (hacking of my account and yes it exists) and yet I am extremely careful in my browsing on the web. So it's a pity since there is no other possibility and I understand Slade's motivations, but I won't be a Premium member for 2013-2014. I liked this site but will be forced to look elsewhere for my part with a lot of regrets.CordiallyDjipy

it would be desirable and honest not to make an amalgam between the possible "worries" because of Paypal, perhaps, to check, during transactions on other sites, in other circumstances, for other products.
for fun I often "help" friends who "catch by chance" viruses or other spy by going, by chance and inadvertently, of course, on sites known to be at risk ;) but it is never their fault !!!
It is up to each of us to be vigilant with all these problems but if we chose this solution it is because it seemed to us the most adapted and the most secure.
We can only take note of your decisions.

You have the possibility to delete your paypal account right after the transaction.
If you did not open a paypal account, it is more than likely that the hacking did not come from there.

Good evening, this message is addressed more particularly to Jean-Jacques whom I thank very much for having taken me for a big vicious pig rushing on the porn sites. I am 62 years old and a musician and I have never been treated like this. I don't appreciate at all this kind of contempt towards members of this site, even if they disagree or express a discontent, even if it is futile. You should know, sir, that the worst kind of contempt for insolence is silence, so I won't say any more about it. On the other hand, Slade's answer on the same subject shows a professionalism and a respect for others that is good to underline.To conclude, because I appreciate this site and those who make it live (i.e. all of us), I have, in spite of my reticence (respectable dear Mr. Jean-Jacques), renewed my Premium subscription. I took a great pleasure to read your message which had the merit to make me laugh, I don't have often the occasion of it here !!!
and I just want to point out that I never talked about YOU and X sites, many users of the net playing online games which are much more dangerous than some lousy videos or shopping online without respecting a minimum of elementary rules of prudence, their alleged problems with Paypal ALWAYS coming from there !!!
moreover i have widened the scope of my answer to all the members who give us this same speech, sorry you are not the center of my concerns, far from it.
I'm glad you didn't confuse me with the site where I'm just a poor volunteer administrator (who also pays for his participation) and therefore you don't need to answer ;)

I've been using Paypal for years but I understand that some people may have doubts .... with or without previous unfortunate experience !!!!
Some basic reminders:
the account can be created and then deleted 5 minutes later .... it limits the time for fraudsters between 3 and 4 am (I'm kidding ....)
some banks offer e-Carte bleue valid for a single transaction, you have to look into this (Cr. Lyo. etc. ... not to name anyone!)
a single provision by transfer from your bank on your own Paypal is also feasible ... see at the counter of his bank!
In short, there are many ways to fund your Paypal account with 15 euros: ONE time only ....
You just have to transfer the 15 euros to your PA account but it's done by itself and without any trouble...
After, there are some who will swear their great gods that ..... but that is I am sure: impossible!
Goodbye false excuses and other suggestions of passage or not by strange sites: for example the laptop of my girlfriend this AM asked to make a Java update .... She did not know if yes or no: I advised him! so it's me who launched ... Install: Right click YES with administrator account and ... then general or specialized mode (classic or custom ....): I do not want to embarrass me and I click on normal (automatic...) and there it installs me in addition to the Update: an antivirus and a program of Back-up for the computer .... And yes: bad choice... had to choose Custom and to fire all the appendices programs to install only Java.... That it is useful to everyone because this occurs x times per day on your computer: change home page, installation of multiple search bars and others...

yes, all updates or installations must be done with care,

I just want to bring my testimony for PayPal, I have been using it for years (the same account) for sums well beyond the Partition-accordeon.com fee and I never had any worries.
Many people have been tricked like banks or Visa services etc... by fake e-mails very often badly imitated (logo, spelling mistakes).
Jean.Jacques also reminds you that your computer is often the object of "lack of cleaning".
