Hello to all of you. I wanted to underline that the digitization of the depositions of scores is often of the most difficult; in view of the age of those. I realized that a lot of files are sometimes unreadable. I believe that it would be good; for all those which share their music; to control those by viewing them after digitization. For my part; if a problem of legibility arose, I will not hesitate to remake a deposit. Example : Nuit de lune ; that I share today, you certainly noticed it, the beginning is just ! chromatic part not very clear. This old partition; in spite of all my will, by alternating with the contrast and the luminosity, nothing to make. I suggest in this case to leave it as it is. What do you think of certain depositions ???

I don't know what you scan with...if it is a scanner or a digital camera.
In the first case ... a scanner allows to scan with DPI from 300 to 1200 which allows to detail a little more the scanning, but it's unfortunately average if it's in Black and White and in saturation often if it's in color for very old scores whose paper is never white white.
On the other hand, with a digital camera, there is the advantage of being able to see immediately the result by enlarging strongly what was cliché, there are much more adjustments on a A P N than on a scanner.and with the millions of points in color it is easier to treat to make several levels of gray, or to leave as is.
With IRFANVIEW the processing of JPG is quite simple.

Hello my friend. I use my computer scanner, not the laptop which is more complicated for me. However, you have enlightened me a bit with your little explanations. Indeed I had not thought of the pixels. Currently, I control if there are not the pieces that I have shared with you, and turn to a digitization in this sense. I am very touched to see that you also share your opinions and councils on this forum, because from time to time, a small word, makes good; one feels that gents are interested, and communicate. The subject of orchestrations was opened a long time ago ... 2017, I think, personally, by filing an orchestration ... I can't see myself not including the violin part ... but that's just my opinion ...
